Update From Administrator -August 17, 2020

To the families of Northbridge ,

Since the beginning of the COVID pandemic, we have worked to keep our families and residents as up to date as possible with changes in our center to new guidance from our state’s Department of Public Health, the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) and other health organizations. Just a few days ago, I reported to you in my weekly email that we were free of COVID in our center.

We were just recently informed that a resident of Northbridge, following a brief hospitalization, returned with a positive result. This individual had previously tested positive and been deemed negative using a symptom-based strategy – that is symptom-free for a duration of time. It is most likely that the individual had not converted or entirely shed the virus and thus was negative. For testing and reporting purposes, we are required to treat the resident as a “new” positive. All residents who are hospitalized or any new resident from the community or hospital-based setting are quarantined for a period of time upon admission or re-admission to our center. We are following all CDC guidelines and will continue to do so.

I will provide any new information in my next email to you later this week. If you have any questions in the interim, as always, please reach out to me.
