Northbridge Health Care Center visited by State Representative
State Rep. Jack Hennessy discusses healthcare
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (Feb. 15, 2019) – State Representative Jack Hennessy, D – Bridgeport met with residents and employees during a tour of the Northbridge Health Care Center Friday February 15 at 10:30 a.m.
“I am grateful to work with the Northbridge Health Care Center, which provides so many essential services to not only Bridgeport residents, but to those throughout the state. Northbridge staff is dedicated to providing compassionate care for their residents,” said Rep. Hennessy.
Rep. Hennessy shared his opinion on health care in the state in addition to learning about the Northbridge facility. Northbridge discussed the need for Rep. Hennessy’s support of a four percent Medicaid rate increase for nursing homes.
“The flat funding for the last 12 years has put a strain on the skilled nursing home industry. We look forward to his (Rep. Hennessy’s) insights on the changing health care environment and the vital role skilled nursing centers play in our community,” said Erica Roman, Administrator of Northbridge Health Care Center.
Northbridge was recognized in 2018 by the American Health Care Association for its dedication to providing the highest quality of care for patients. Earning the Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award, this honors association members throughout the nation for their proved efforts to improve the quality of care for seniors and persons with disabilities.
Rep. Hennessy is a constant advocate for health care in Connecticut. Now in his fourth year, Rep. Hennessy has introduced legislation so naturopathic physicians can practice medicine to their full scope of authority.
